The Rubey Park Transit Center remodel, which is currently under construction, embraces sustainable initiatives such as a green roof integrated with solar panels and a green wall system enveloping the architecture. The site design greatly improves vehicle, bus and pedestrian circulation through the elimination of barriers, bettering of sightlines, and minimization of circulation conflicts.

Receiving stormwater runoff from the Rio Grande Parking Plaza, captured flows are redirected and filtered through a tiered system that features a meandering stream, cobble beach, and extended stepping stone fingers
